ACTIVITIES

1.      Reef Recon  Explore and Experience the Wonder of unique marine ecosystems, Coral Reef Monitoring, Hawaiian Marine Ecology, Water Quality

2.      OP@SEA Seamanship Skills from US Coast Guard Captains aboard an SOS sailing research Vessel.  End of the summer sailing trip to Ni’ihau.

3.      Ocean Guardian Adopt a Beach - Clean the  reefs and coast of  Kaua’i

4.      Intro to SCUBA*  Try Out Basic SCUBA Diving with  PADI Instructors. (*Specialty or Private Class, age 13 and up)

5.      SCUBA* Certification Get certified with PADI Instructors. (*Specialty or Private Class age 13 and up)

6.      Restoration & Preservation  Plant Native Trees, Malama Hawai’i, Invasive Plant removal, Taro field restoration, Reef Cleanups.

7.      Digital Media: Video, Digital Photography &  Editing  “Aqua Vision” TV Production, Scientific analysis. (Specialty / Private Class)

8.      “Team Building”  Physical Fitness,  Anti-Drug Education, Career Development.

9.      Hawai’i Studies Ahupua’a Principles, Resource Mapping, Ethnobotany, Geology,

10.  Water Safety CPR, First Aid, Water Safety, Surf board Competitions & Races.

11.  Canoe Paddling and Kayaking Team Spirit, Strength & Endurance

12.  Intro to Surfing, Kite &Windsurfing  Professional Training & Safety Techniques Surfing is on when Da Waves are Up !!!

13.  SOS Ocean Festival -  Hosted by the students of Sea School, the Ocean Festival involves a gathering of community groups to promote island ecology and awareness through interactive displays, music and fun!

14.  Making a Difference!  Whether it's protecting sea turtles or teaching tourists about conservation, Team SOS members are great examples of individuals who use their talents, energy and resources to help the environment.
