Save Our Seas Summer 2003 Newsletter

SOS is an international Hawai'i based non-profit organization
that utilizes education and research to preserve, protect,
and restore the world’s oceans for future generations.

Aloha

Members and Friends of Save Our Seas,

This year will mark the 10 year anniversary of Save Our Seas. Our oceans are in distress & more than ever we need your support.  We are now reviving many of our successful projects like “Ocean Pulse”,  the marine educational program that will be integrated into our local school system.  SOS will also be distributing conservation materials for students, visitors and residents, as well as conducting eco-tours and monthly beach cleanups (the last Saturday of every month). SOS will once again be hosting the “Clean Oceans Day & the TransPac Yacht Race” recycling program and  pollution survey.  New  events for 2003 include: “Project Makana”, the implementation of Kaua’i’s first Marine Life Conservation District (MLCD).  Show your love  & aloha for the ocean and you could end up on TV.  This summer, be on the lookout for the premiere of the new SOS television show “Aqua Vision.”

"Environmentalism is about saving our communities. It is about the power of the community asserting itself on these environmental issues that will directly affect our future generations."  Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.,  SOS Clean Oceans Conference 1997.

Save Our Seas is once again enlisting the help of people & organizations worldwide so that we, as a whole, can implement conservation practices in Hawaii, Polynesia and the World.  We are working hard to create changes efficiently and positively!  Many places in our islands are on the verge of becoming rescued and protected.  Our goal is to link as many “Aqua-Friendly” individuals and organizations as possible to generate an “Eco-Revolution” for the good of Hawaii and the worlds’ oceans.

SOS needs your help! Please renew your membership  or join SOS today. Your tax-deductible donation will go directly towards Saving Our Seas.  We must work together to ensure that our coral reefs & oceans are restored, so that future generations may enjoy their many benefits.

Sincerely,

Captain Paul Clark
